She sought safety at a nearby school, where she met a man who later brought her to Kakamega.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThe two had two sons together, living only in rentals because they never owned a home. Her husband worked as a casual laborer on farms to provide daily food before he left without warning and never returned.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eTo feed her family, Grace found a job at KALRO Kakamega. Her small pay was not enough to send her children to school, leaving neither boy with an education.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eToday, one son works in the reserves while the other struggles with alcoholism and cannot help her. Grace worked for only a few months before severe back and leg pain forced her to stop.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eSince then, she has relied completely on friends and the local church for survival. Matters worsened when she was given seven days to move out because she could not pay her rent.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eTo make matters worse, she faced serious health battles like high blood pressure, leg pain, and bad eyesight that needed costly surgery. With no food, no home, and failing health, she suffered immensely.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eA friend who noticed how much she was suffering decided to refer her to Mama Ibado. After she came to our offices, we visited her home to ascertain if she truly qualifies to be assisted, and yes, she needs to be assisted.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eNow, Njeri gets food from Mama Ibado after being enrolled in our seniors' feeding program, where she receives food and medical attention.
