They parted ways, leaving Leya alone to raise her children. With no one else to rely on, she started selling vegetables and farm produce in the market. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e“I raised my children alone after separating from my husband,” she says. “I sold vegetables and farm produce tirelessly to make sure they went to school.”\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eLife was still tough. Five of her seven children died over the years, including two sons. One loss stands out, the death of her son who had just finished Form Four and landed a job at Posta Kenya in Eldoret, a hopeful sign for the family.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e“He died after a disagreement with a colleague. I was devastated. I saw our future in him. I really loved him,” she recalls, her voice heavy with pain.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eNow, Leya lives with two daughters and her grandchildren. Despite battling diabetes, asthma, and high blood pressure, she continues to buy and sell vegetables to support her family. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e“I no longer farm. I buy and resell vegetables for a small profit. But business is hard,” she admits.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThanks to Mama Ibado Charity, Leya receives regular food supplies that keep her going. “When I don’t eat, my health gets worse. I thank Mama Ibado Charity for their help. I’m able to feed myself and my grandchildren.
