ndechele-janesa-mate
Ndechele Janesa Mate

Ndechele Janesa Mate was born on April 30, 1951. She began her education in 1961 and successfully reached Standard Seven. Her formal schooling ended abruptly after her final exam because her family could not afford the necessary school fees to continue.

By the age of 18, Janesa married. She and her husband were blessed with seven children, though four tragically passed away, leaving her with three surviving daughters. Her husband, Musa, became ill in 1993. His illness lasted until 2010, when he passed away, leaving Jerusa a widow.

Without financial support, Janesa’s life became challenging, and obtaining food was a constant, difficult struggle. To survive and provide for her family, she had to work exhausting, low-paying jobs, including cultivating land for other people. Out of desperation, and as a necessary means of generating cash, she also resorted to brewing changaa, an illicit liquor.

A key turning point came when Jerusa was approached by a woman in town who offered to register her with the Mama Ibado Charity in Amalemba. Jerusa accepted this help and was included in the Feed the Senior’s Program.

Today, Janesa benefits significantly from the assistance provided by Mama Ibado Charity. The food she receives includes essential items such as milk, maize flour, rice, sugar, and cooking oil. This reliable support has helped her stop brewing changaa and ended her reliance on difficult farm labor just to survive.

In addition to the food, Janesa 's health is being addressed. After explaining her condition during a visit, she was given medicine. She now visits the Mama Ibado Clinic every Thursday for a check-up, which helps ensure her sustained well-being.

Janesa is grateful for the comprehensive help she receives. As a struggling widow with no consistent income outside of this charitable support, she is a deserving case for continued assistance.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0917/1763/2322/files/IMG_2649_fc183e82-75ba-472c-a469-c50b8597891c.jpg?v=1764134900
