He eventually moved to Nairobi to seek better opportunities as a casual laborer before returning home to further his skills.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eHe trained as a heavy machinery operator and earned his license while working for a private employer. In 1974, he secured a position with the Ministry of Works, where he served as a Grade 3 driver until his retirement.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eDuring his marriage, he fathered seven children and worked tirelessly to provide for them on a modest civil servant salary. Despite his efforts, only one child was able to complete their education fully while the others struggled to find stable employment.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe family faced significant hardships as his pension was insufficient to cover the basic needs of his large household. There were many days when the lack of consistent income made it difficult to put enough food on the table for his children.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eHis path crossed with the Mama Ibado program through his community leadership role as a village elder. The Area Chief selected him to assist the organization in identifying vulnerable seniors and ensuring that aid reached those in genuine need without being diverted.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eWhile serving the foundation, he was eventually registered as a beneficiary himself to help support his own struggling family. He now receives monthly supplies including rice, cooking oil, wheat flour, maize flour, and sugar.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e\"In the past, the stress of finding the next meal weighed heavily on my mind, but now that burden is lifted and I can focus my remaining energy on assisting my community.\"\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eHe remains deeply grateful for the consistent support that has stabilized his home life. He often offers prayers for the continued success of the program so that it may reach even more people in similar situations.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eHussein continues to require assistance because most of his adult children remain unemployed and rely on him for survival.
