Mama Ibado Charity Breaks Ground for Seniors Community Center in Bula Pesa

On 28th August 2025, a new chapter began in Mama Ibado Charity’s mission to restore dignity and care to senior citizens with the groundbreaking ceremony of the upcoming Seniors Community Center in Bula Pesa, Isiolo County.

The milestone event was led by Mr. Ahmed Jibril, President and Founder of Mama Ibado Charity (MIC), alongside the MIC leadership team, project contractors, engineers, and community members. It also honored the presence of Col. (Rtd.) Abdulbari Abdulrahman, whose family generously donated the parcel of land on which the center will stand, a gesture rooted in trust and shared vision for transforming the lives of older persons.

“This project is more than bricks and mortar,” said Mr. Jibril during his remarks. “It is a promise to our elders — a promise that they will age with dignity, comfort, and community. This center will be a home where they are not forgotten, but cherished.”

The Seniors Community Center will serve as a safe haven and social hub for elderly beneficiaries of Mama Ibado Charity’s programs. It will host a range of services and activities; from healthcare clinics and nutrition programs to social gatherings and skill-sharing sessions, all designed to enrich the lives of seniors and strengthen their connection with the community.

The groundbreaking marked the beginning of the construction phase, with contractors now set to bring the architectural plans to life. Once completed, the facility will stand as a beacon of compassion and a testament to what is possible when individuals and communities come together in service of humanity.

Mama Ibado Charity extends heartfelt gratitude to all partners, donors, and supporters who continue to walk alongside us in our mission. The Seniors Community Center is not just a building, it is a symbol of hope, love, and respect for the generations that came before us.
