Mama Ibado Charity (MIC) is an independent, non-profit, and non-governmental organization (NGO) formed from humble beginnings in 2011 with one clear objective in mind: Restoring dignity to our seniors.
The Charity was created in honor of the memory of Mama Ibado Haji Osman, a remarkable woman who dedicated her life to fighting the poverty and hardships experienced by many among her elderly peers. Her compassion and commitment left behind a legacy that continues to echo through the region to this very day.
The late Mama Ibado saw the devastation firsthand as she watched elderly men and women, struck with various illnesses and degenerative diseases, resort to begging and pleading for assistance. Often, they were forced to rely on friends and family who were themselves victims of economic distress while trying to support their grandchildren.
This endless struggle to simply survive robbed many of these incredible and dynamic individuals of the right to live their twilight years with dignity, respect, and comfort. Despite having little resources, Mama Ibado found creative ways to provide assistance to those in need. Through small acts of kindness, she quickly developed a reputation as a deeply compassionate individual and a guiding light in the lives of many facing dark times.
After her passing in 2009, her children made a heartfelt commitment to continue her life’s work. From this desire, Mama Ibado Charity was born.
Today, Mama Ibado Charity is dedicated to helping seniors in need by offering a range of essential support services that improve their lives. These services include:
- Healthcare assistance
- Safe housing support
- Food and nutrition programs
- Access to basic daily needs
One core principle that makes us stand out is our commitment to transparency: we do not offset our overhead costs using money that is meant for donations. This means that every single donation made to the Charity goes directly toward helping the seniors who need it most. Our donors can give with confidence, knowing that their contributions are making a real and meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable elderly individuals.
Through compassion and community support, Mama Ibado Charity continues to honor the legacy of Mama Ibado by restoring dignity and hope to those who need it most.
