Run 4 Seniors 2025: Over 1,000 Participants Raise over KES 10 Million for the Elderly

On 11th July 2025, Karura Forest came alive with energy, purpose, and compassion as more than 1,000 participants gathered for the 1st edition of the Run 4 Seniors charity event, organized by Mama Ibado Charity (MIC).

This year’s run was a resounding success, raising over KES 10 million in support of food and healthcare for vulnerable seniors in Isiolo and Kakamega counties. The event highlighted the power of community and the importance of standing together to restore dignity to the elderly.

From corporate teams and families to fitness enthusiasts and first-time runners, the participants showed remarkable solidarity with seniors, proving that every stride, no matter the pace, carries the promise of hope and care.
Speaking at the event, our board member, Amb. Dr. Amina Mohamed, expressed gratitude to all who took part:
“Run 4 Seniors is not just a race, it’s a movement of love and dignity for our elders. Seeing so many people come together to support seniors reminds us that care for the elderly is a shared responsibility.”

The funds raised will go directly toward monthly food support and essential healthcare services for senior beneficiaries. With growing needs and rising costs of living, this support ensures that vulnerable elders can live with hope, dignity, and care.

The event went beyond raising vital resources, it strengthened public commitment to our mission of restoring dignity to seniors. With participants, sponsors, and volunteers moving in unity, Run 4 Seniors showed that true impact is made when a community stands together, ensuring every senior feels valued, cared for, and never left behind.
