Elizabeth Rehema

Elizabeth Rehema was born into poverty in Bunyore and never had the opportunity to attend school. Her life became even more difficult when she was orphaned at a young age, leaving her to care for her younger siblings. This forced her to toke on various odd jobs in the community to provide for them.

Seeking a new start, she got married in Bungoma, but tragedy struck again when her husband passed away. This left her to raise their six children alone. After losing one of her children, Elizabeth moved to Kakamega in search of work, primarily tilling land for others.

In 2002, while working in a field, she collapsed. Doctors were unable to diagnose her condition, and she is now fully paralyzed and unable to care for herself. With most of her children unemployed, she relies on the support of her neighbors.

Fortunately, Mama Ibado Charity stepped in to help. They provide her with monthly food supplies and healthcare services.

"I am so grateful for Mama Ibado Charity," Elizabeth says. "They have been a lifeline in my otherwise miserable life. They promptly provide me with food every month and periodically check on me to offer health services. They've even given me a wheelchair to help with my mobility. May God bless Mama Ibado Charity so they can continue their noble work of taking care of needy seniors like myself."
