HABIBA ABDI DAHIR

Habiba Abdi Dahir is an elderly woman who has lived a life marked by resilience and perseverance. After the passing of her husband, he left her the home she lives in today, a modest structure that has been her shelter for decades. The house, built nearly 40 to 50 years ago, has grown old and worn with time. Its walls and roof are fragile, and when it rains, water leaks in, making the home unsafe and uncomfortable. Despite these challenges, Mama Habiba continues to live there, as it is all she has.

As the years have gone by, her health has also declined. Mama Habiba lives with hypertension and dementia, conditions that make daily life increasingly difficult. There are times when she struggles to sleep, and simple tasks around the home have become exhausting. Despite her frailty, she remains strong in spirit, relying on the love and care of her children who ensure she is supported every day.

Mama Habiba’s life took a hopeful turn when she was enrolled in Mama Ibado Charity. Since joining the program, she has greatly benefitted from the support offered, which has been a lifeline for her. She receives monthly food rations that help her maintain her nutrition, and she has access to healthcare services that manage her conditions. When she is unable to visit the clinic, a doctor comes to her home, ensuring she continues to receive essential medical care and attention.

Though her home is old and worn, and her health presents ongoing challenges, Mama Habiba faces each day with dignity. She and her children are deeply grateful to Mama Ibado Charity for their consistent support, which has made life more manageable and given her hope. They humbly request that she be considered for a safe and secure house, one that will protect her from the elements, provide proper flooring, and give her a place to live out her remaining years in comfort, dignity, and peace.
