Born in 1952 in Central Kabras, Mwajuma Mohammed Amboko, grew up in a modest household. She studied up to Class 7 before leaving school to get married at a young age.
Motherhood brought her joy and purpose, but also sorrow of her five children, two passed away. Determined to support her family, Mwajuma ventured into business, first selling garments and shawls. For two years she kept it afloat, until customers who could not pay on time forced her to close. Undeterred, she tried again, this time selling tea leaves, but arthritis and frequent hospital visits slowly eroded her efforts, leaving her without income.
For sometime, her children stepped in, their support cushioning the blow of her losses. But fate had more trials ...
