Born in Wamba, Samburu County, Kenya, Esther Naitemu Letupukwa’s life has been a testament to strength. From a young age, she learned the importance of hard work, responsibility, and perseverance—lessons that would become crucial in the years ahead.

After marrying, Esther moved with her husband to Chechelezi in Isiolo. There, she devoted herself to managing her household and raising her children. She tended livestock, cultivated small plots of land when possible, and worked tirelessly to provide for her family. Life was never easy, but she faced each day with determination, always prioritizing the needs of her children.

Tragedy, however, struck repeatedly. Over time, thieves broke into her property multiple times, stealing her livestock until she was left with nothing. The animals she had worked so hard to care for, which had been a lifeline for her family, were all taken. She was left without the basic resources that once helped feed her children and sustain the household.

Undeterred, Esther continued to find ways to survive. She took on odd jobs while she still had the strength, doing everything she could to feed her children and provide them with some security. Her days were long, filled with labor and worry, yet she refused to give up, driven by her love for her family and her determination to ensure they did not go hungry.

Just when hope seemed distant, Mama Ibado Charity stepped in. Through their support programs, Esther began receiving monthly food rations that now sustain her family for the entire month. This assistance has brought a sense of stability and relief she had long gone without. For the first time in years, she could focus on caring for her children without the constant fear of hunger or deprivation. Beyond food, Mama Ibado Charity has provided healthcare support, ensuring that Esther can access medical treatment whenever she needs it. This has been a lifeline, giving her peace of mind and helping her maintain the strength to continue caring for her family.

Today, Esther’s life is a little brighter. Though the challenges of the past cannot be erased, she now lives with dignity, knowing that her basic needs are met and that she has a support system in place. Her children, including her son Patrick, feel the impact of this support every day. “We are very grateful for the support,” Patrick shares. “The food sustains my mother for the entire month, and it has made a huge difference in our lives. Thank you.”
