Ombayo Elenah Makokha

Ombayo Elenah Makokha was born in Butsotso Mweke Bukura in 1952, making her 73 years old. Her father enrolled her in Shiandukusi Primary School. She was only able to study up to Form Five before financial constraints forced her to stop.

After leaving school, Elenah returned home to assist with chores and extensive family farming. Financial life was difficult and challenging during those years. She got married at the age of 19, moving to her own home in Lutonyi area, where the hardship continued.
Elenah was blessed with five children, but tragically three of them later passed away. She was left to care for orphaned grandchildren and great-grandchildren from these losses.

Her husband later died, which made life extremely difficult for the entire household.
Elenah’s life became a constant struggle to survive and provide for her dependents. She often sold vegetables from her garden to get meager funds for food. She did not have a comfortable life and had to rely heavily on pushing through each day.

Relief came when she met Mama Amina Uma Makokha, a fellow food recipient. Mama Amina asked Elenah to help carry her food, leading Elenah to eventually seek aid herself. Elenah was heard and began receiving her own food package, making a positive difference in her home life.

The food package provides essential supplies including rice, ugali flour, sugar, tea leaves, cooking oil, salt, and porridge flour. This stable food supply has reduced her household struggle and restored her strength. Crucially, Elenah also visits the clinic every Thursday for a check-up to manage her health.

Elenah expresses sincere thanks to Mama Ibado for caring for her and others. She prays God blesses her and grants her good health so she can continue her generous work. Elenah requires this consistent, life-sustaining assistance because her declining strength prevents her from earning an income while she cares for her grandchildren.
