Winifred Munde Liru

At 80 years old, Winifred Munde Liru’s life tells a story of strength, heartbreak, and hope. She has faced more than her fair share of life’s challenges but continues to rise above them with quiet dignity.

After completing her education, Winifred began her career as a nurse at Kaimosi Hospital. It was during her time there that she got married and was later blessed with seven children. Life seemed promising until tragedy struck.

Her struggles began when she lost her beloved husband, a loss that left a deep void in her life. Shortly after, an even more devastating blow came: her son, whom she had taken to India for further studies and who she had hoped would be her family's breadwinner, was murdered in a gruesome incident. The trauma from this loss took a heavy toll on her health, triggering multiple conditions including hypertension, an enlarged heart, and diabetes.

With her health deteriorating and the responsibility of raising her grandchildren now resting solely on her shoulders, Winifred found herself in a desperate situation.
It was during this low point in her life that she came across Mama Ibado Charity.
After reaching out to the organization, she was warmly welcomed and enrolled in the Seniors Feeding Program. Since then, she has been receiving monthly food supplies that support both her and her grandchildren. 

Additionally, she was included in the Seniors Healthcare Program, an initiative that has been crucial in managing her medical conditions. Through this program, she now receives essential medication, enabling her to live a more stable and comfortable life.
Winifred deeply appreciates Mama Ibado Charity and all its partners for their unwavering support. She says their kindness has not only eased her burdens but has also restored her hope.
